How hard is it.... How hard is it, pray tell, for a Colombian citizen to get residency status in Italy? I know that European Union citizens and even U.S. citizens can get residency status without too many hassles from Italian authorities, but can Colombians immigrate legally into Italy? After all, they - coming from a country with a long, sad history of political history and having a bad rep because of the illegal drug trade - are often looked at with suspicion in Spain (where they're called "sudacas" despectively). Short of marrying an Italian citizen without it being a "for the papers" thing, is legal immigration into the country a possibility for Colombians?
