Do you have any recommendations for books that will help me to learn Italian quickly? I am going to make a trip to the store and would love some suggestions on workbooks that will be beneficial.
Have you checked online? There are a lot of good sources. Or would you rather buy a book locally to avoid shipping? Maybe someone at the bookstore or library could recommend you a good book. I don't know of any.
I have checked online (and I do prefer to order online) but there are just so many options. I would rather ask people who have used workbooks to learn Italian so I can make sure that it's effective.
There are so many fun and unique online courses that are specifically designed to make comprehension and retention easier. Rosetta Stone is a great one that comes to mind.
I wouldn't buy any language program before looking at it's reviews online. Not all learning language books or audio are created equal. Also, focus on books or audio that try to teach conversational italian as opposed to grammar.
I'd recommend software too if you really want to learn a language. It's so much better for pronunciation than just learning from books. I have also heard that Rosetta Stone is excellent but it isn't cheap. The basic course is £149.
Thanks for the suggestion of looking into software. I didn't really even consider that. I have heard that Rosetta Stone is a great program but I don't know anybody who has used the Italian one. I will definitely look up reviews. It's expensive but maybe it will be a good investment.
